Byrne down in the house

The Post-Talking Heads incarnation of the Artist continually known as David Byrne has long had a predilection towards South American music.

His years spent South of the Border have paid off: I just listened to "I Wish" which you can find on Salon.com right here. It's great. Combining the best sounds of early Talking Heads with the odd instrumentation that Salon credits to Brazilian country music.

I love it!

[Editor's note: Eliel would like to thank a fellow music nerd for reminding him to talk about what he's listening too these days]

I've never listened to Talking Heads and country music generally isn't my thing, but I liked that song. The mix of styles makes it pretty interesting!

Does Elizabeth have any idea when she might head out to Seattle? I'm trying to figure out if I'll be able to go at all... and the rest of my family is going without me around the 2nd-6th of July I believe. If I go it would most likely be end of August. I suppose I could just ask her but I don't have her email address....

PS Thanks for the link... I should write another post, maybe I'll get to that tomorrow :)

AH! New content!

Ohh, Els ... just evoking the name 'David Byrne' takes me back to a rooftop in Providence RI, dancing to "Poplife" with you and Terri (sp?). Well, watching you two dance anyway.

And the midnight bike ride.

And the first ice cream mix-in I ever had, hand mixed before my eyes (which ColdStone Creamery has resurrected, much to my chagrin).

And the announcement of the advent of your first niece. It all happened in RI.

Okay, now who is David Byrne again?

I kid.
